All Pentagrams may be worn for decorative or for symbolic purposes. But, should you wish to charge your Pentagram to its purpose it is advisable to form a link between you and the cosmic forces that operate through it by performing the simple ceremony of empowerment described below.

Many people prefer to wear their Pentagram for some time before consecrating it, in order to become familiar with its energy and to receive inspiration for their magickal intention.

The use we describe for each Pentagram should be viewed as a guide only. You may also charge your Pentagram for other intentions providing you intuitively feel they are in harmony with your Talisman's energy.

You will need the following:

• A vessel of water
• A white candle in a candle holder
• Salt
• A small table (altar)
• A white cloth (altar cloth)
• Incense or joss stick
• Quiet room

Make sure you are not disturbed: Switch off your telephone and close your curtains. Lay your white cloth over your table. Place you candle, water, and incense in the center of your table.

Light your candle and your incense and place your Pentagram next to them. Turn of the lights, close your eyes, and spend a few minutes thinking about what you would like your Pentagram to achieve (in keeping with its special Magickal purpose), and build up a detailed picture in your mind of yourself in a situation where your Pentagram has successfully achieved its purpose.

Pass your Pentagram through the smoke from your incense to symbolically purify it with the element of AIR. Then pass your Pentagram through the flame of your candle to symbolically cleanse it of all impurities with the element of FIRE. Next, take a pinch of salt and slowly sprinkle it into your water. Imagine the water is filled with golden light. Then, sprinkle this consecrated water onto your Pentagram, which you shall also imagine filled with golden light, to symbolically purify your Pentagram with the element of WATER. Finally, sprinkle a few grains of salt onto your Pentagram to symbolize it being cleansed by the element of EARTH. Your Pentagram is now cleansed of all outside influences and is ready to be charged to achieve your purpose.

Now, sit down and close your eyes, holding your Pentagram in your right hand. Picture above you a sphere of brilliant light radiating in all directions. Concentrate your energy on this sphere, feel its power and brilliance grow.

Picture a shaft of golden light flowing from the sphere and slowly descending from the top of your head into your solar plexus, charging you with energy and you forming a second powerful sphere of glowing light, which warms and invigorates you. Now picture yourself in a situation where you have achieved your desired objective. Keeping this imagery in your mind, with all of your energy, visulize this golden light flowing through your body into your right arm through your right hand and then into your Pentagram.

Your Pentagram is now charged with your intention. Allow yourself a few minutes to unwind, then have a drink and a bite or two to eat to get yourself back down to Earth.

Your Pentagram is now working for you, in conjunction with the cosmic forces, so be prepared for some positive changes in your life. Your Pentagram will keep working for you for as long as you wear it or keep it within you aura.
